Venki Uddameri is a professor of civil, environmental and construction engineering at Texas Tech University, where he also serves as the director of the TTU Water Resources Center. His research interests are in the broad area of sustainable water resources management with a specific emphasis on groundwater systems. He has co-authored two books and over 100 technical publications. He is the editor-in-chief of the Journal of the American Water Resources Association (JAWRA) a pre-eminent journal focused on multidisciplinary water resources issues. JAWRA is the flagship publication of the American Water Resources Association and is co-published with Wiley Inc. JAWRA has a 55+ year history in archiving state-of-the-art, multidisciplinary water resources research and is accessible at over 6,000 institutions across the world.

Description

The Journal of the American Water Resources Association (JAWRA) is a pre-eminent journal which publishes original research on multidisciplinary water resources issues. The webinar discusses the various elements of the publication process in the journal. Topics to be covered include – preparing your manuscript for submission, the editorial workflow, the peer-review process, how to address reviewer comments and revise your manuscript to maximize the chances of acceptance, formatting figures and tables for maximum impact, structuring your abstract and research impact statement for search engine optimization and post-publication marketing of your paper. The webinar will also discuss the rapidly changing landscape of scientific publications and present some current trends in scientific publishing.

  2. Understand the various elements of the scientific publication process starting from preparing your manuscript and all the way to final acceptance.
