Opening Plenary Leadership Panel:
Perspectives on Water Resources Adaptive Management (AM): Issues and Challenges

The Plenary Session Leadership Panel proposes to:

1) Frame the issues and challenges facing conducting effective, collaborative, and scientifically-based water resources adaptive management (to be revisited and further discussed during the Conference Closing Panel) and

2) Familiarize the audience with commonly used Adaptive Management (AM) terms and concepts, so all attendees have a common understanding of AM (not necessarily agreeing on terms and concepts).

Panelists will be sector leaders from: international government organizations, Federal, State, and Local governments, academicians, the private sector and non-government organizations (NGOs) often working in water resources AM. Each leader will be given 10 minutes to frame their challenges and issues to answer the question: "what challenges or issues hinder implementing or operating effective, collaborative, and scientifically-based water resource AM projects or programs?"
