Post-Conference Field Trip to Netafim and Kibbutz Hatzerim

HarvestingJoin us for a field trip to Netafim -- the world's leading irrigation company -- and Kibbutz Hatzerim the home of Netafim's manufacturing facility and water quality lab.

Netafim was founded in Israel in 1965 by farmers and agronomists on the idea that drip irrigation is a solution to one of the world's most urgent problems: lack of quality water for food production. As the world's leading irrigation company, Netafim's vision is to further adoption of drip irrigation to fight scarcity of water, land and food. There is no cost for this tour, but participants must RSVP via email to Sharon Megdal by September 1, 2017. The minimum number of participants is 15; maximum number is 50. Those accompanying conference attendees are welcome to sign up.

Netafirm BuildingTentative schedule:
  • Leave Tel-Aviv at 09:00 by bus (pickup location in Tel Aviv Hotel Area TBD)
  • Arrive at Netafim in Kibbutz Hatzerim at 10:30 (coffee, drinks)
  • Presentation by Netafim of the history of drip irrigation, the technology, efficient water management
  • Visit to the new show room
  • Lunch at the Kibbutz dining room 12:30-13:30
  • Visit Kibbutz
  • Visit of the drip irrigation manufacturing plant
  • Visit of the drip irrigated Jojoba field next to the Kibbutz (using recycled water) at 14:30
  • Return to Tel-Aviv at about 17:00
